Don't Consider Taboo sex education for children

Child psychologist Vera Itabiliana said, to prevent cases of sexual assaults on children can be done by providing sex education early on. Unfortunately, not all schools as well as parents who provide sex education because it is considered something taboo for children.

"I think sex education for children not yet evenly in Indonesia there are. Because many consider it a taboo or let them (children) know themselves, "said Vera's World children's day in a discussion in Jakarta, Friday (20/11/2015).

Vera says, in reality many children victims of sexual violence who previously did not know about the issue of sexuality. Of course, continued Vera, sex education provided in accordance with the age of the child.

"For children, first taught who can touch these parts (sex organs), who should not," says Vera.

Prevention of cases of sexual violence on children is also by means of providing accompaniment on the child victims. This is because many of the perpetrators of sexual violence was previously a victim while the children.

Based on the data of Subdit youth, Children and women (Renakta) Directorate General of criminal police on Reserse Metro Jaya, numbers of sexual violence against children in 2014 was recorded as many as 40 cases. Then the 2015 has increased due to September 2015, noted there were 41 cases of sexual violence against children in Jakarta.
